You know the difference between an airline pilot and a Baker. ???Well Theres as big a difference in A Mace bearer and A Drum Major ....Mace Bearer Is the right NAME For this chosen field . Its got The Drum Major term which came from the Army. Read the dictionary on what a Drum major is it's really Army orientated . Pipe Major plays pipes Arranges music oversees Youth policy in young players coming through 😮😮and giving Instructions to the all other pipers and Drummers playing in the Band Drum Major takes in instructions plays a snare drum instructs the drummers in DRUMMING composing and arranging drum scores the tuning of drums. Over seeing youth coming through to be future REPORTING to Pipe Major who is BOSS NUMERO ONE.

1 Very Good drum scores. 2 Plenty of drive 3 plenty of weight variation. These next 2 things are blowing it for you spoiling its bad enough to have you any where from anywhere from 7th and lower. Grade 1 drummers over 60% of what Over 43years I've seen do not play on the snares Sadly here you have really bad flams in places that makes choked affect sound ,With some drummers not playing on head where the snares are its ruining the Drum SOUND Getting ALL drummers on TO PLAYING ACTUALLY ON THE SNARES GET THE NICE SNAREY SOUND CRISP GOOD SOUND CLEAN FLAMS .YOU TAKE ON ANY ONE

Solid performance starting with the Highland Wedding, a melodic tune loaded with piping land mines enough that the tune might well be named The Highland Divorce.

The Pakis are just a different culture in every way and not expecting them to change any part of their culture in this millennium. What we westerners deem important and essential in the piping and drumming scene (such as a finely crafted and tuned instrument) they just do not. Their priorities lie elsewhere, more inwardly, I’m guessing. They do although absolutely love to prey on westerners to sell off their quickly made rosewood ‘pipes’ for a quick buck. Westerners ignorant of what a real set of pipes are, are their prime target.

That was interesting, thanks for sharing Rab! My thoughts are exactly in line with yours. We can't rightfully judge that which we don't understand. They do look awfully snazzy, though! 😊
